Random 'facts' without evidence as of right now, but I will work on resources and references later for now these are cool things to think about.
Best method of removing ticks is getting as close to the ticks head as possible with tweezers and removing it straight up. Don't use a match or soap or anything fancy the tick won't just back out, it takes them time to dissolve the cement that they create to stay attached to their host.
If for some reason you can't get all the little bits of the tick out, its okay. Its similar to a splinter so just keep the area clean and wipe with alcohol or something fancy such as that to prevent infection.
Ticks die from lack of moisture for the most part.
Food- each life stage the tick needs a blood meal to molt into the next life stage. They use a variety of hosts to move from stage to stage. Between stages ticks drop to the ground (sometimes under the dirt) and take that time off the host to molt and reach their next life stages.
It takes about 3 days to drown a tick.
